We will be studying 1 & 2 Thessalonians during our Small Group term. As we praise, pray and study together, my hope is the following:

  1. God’s truth will transform us

  2. The Holy Spirit will help us to learn and grow with each other.

Everyone will be asked to participate in the following:

  3. Studying by reading assignments and discussion questions.

Translating God

Have you ever wondered if it was God speaking to you and not just some random thought? Do you believe that God sees, cares and wants to speak to you about your life? Would you like to connect people around you to God as the One who dearly loves them? We will learn how to hear God, take risks, stay accountable, and love people well. We will read through Shawn Bolz’s book on the prophetic that will make us realize every one of us can do this. We will be practicing together in a safe environment. How powerful our walk and witness would be if we were to heed our Father’s voice on a regular basis!

Psalms

Psalms 34:1 As we read "Psalms: Glorifying God for Who He is" by Warren Wiersbe, let's come before Our Father with our joyous moments, our most difficult moments, just as David and the psalmists did, through praise and prayer, and grow together in intimacy with the Lord, trusting in Him deeper and praising Him through every seasons of our lives. Sisters are welcome to join us at anytime during our Spring SG session.

True Worshipers 

Time: Thursday, 7:30-9pm

As we read this book together, our aim is to grow and learn how to become a true worshiper each and every day. This book will challenge us to be rooted in the gospel with practical application and help us grow out of just being a Sunday morning worshiper.

We go to church on Sundays and hope to survive the rest of the week at work and at home. Rinse and repeat. But do you ever feel like you are missing out on God‘s main purpose for you or barely maintaining the status quo? We will be reading Francis Chan's 'Crazy Love' as a small group to examine our relationship with God, our view of Him, and rediscover and respond to the crazy love He has for us.

Celebration of Discipline (Women’s Group)

Time: Wednesday, 8-9:30pm, in-person every other week, online on some off weeks

Material: Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster - $13

Women only

Does the idea of "discipline" have you ... celebrating? Foster posits, "Joy is the keynote of all the [Spiritual] Disciplines." All that is required is a longing after God. We will be reading/discussing Richard Foster's Celebration of Discipline, and practicing the inward & outward/individual & corporate spiritual disciplines (e.g. meditation, prayer, simplicity, worship, etc.) The aim of this group is to create a space of grace to encounter Jesus and grow as His disciples, and these practices will help us enter into deeper love and joy in our relationship with Him.

Time: Sunday, 3-5pm, 3 weeks and 1 week off

Material: Forgotten God: Remembering Our Crucial Need for the Holy Spirit by Francis Chan - $15

Open to families with kids elementary and up, no childcare provided

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We pray in the name of all three, but how often do we live with an awareness of only the first two? As Jesus ascended into heaven, He promised to send the Holy Spirit—the Helper—so that we could be true and living witnesses for Christ. Francis Chan gets at the true source of the church's power—the Holy Spirit.

Singles and Couples without children

Each week we will gather to discuss the sermon, pray for one another and fellowship over a good meal. We are open to all singles and married couples without children. We will meet 3 weeks/month and have off 1 week/month for fellowship.

 

MoneyLife Personal Finance Study

Time: Every other Sunday, 3-5pm

Material: MoneyLife Personal Finance Study by Crown Financial - $15 Online course study

Couples with or without children

Besides the Kingdom of God, Jesus talked most about money. He knew the blessings and the darkness that our wealth and possessions can cause. Regardless of our personal financial situation, we need to better understand God's financial principles. Through an online study, discussions and prayers for one another, we will learn how to make sound and confident financial decisions, develop new beliefs and behaviors related to money and possessions, identify ways to grow in generosity, and impart financial wisdom to others and our children. We will be meeting every other week; therefore, commitment to completing assignments, accountability to one another, and attendance will be absolutely required.
