Journaling Reflection Questions for the new year

Hello JOY Englewood,

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)

The life God gives us on this side of eternity is so short.

If you were too busy during the holidays to reflect on your past year, take this week to think of the year gone and the year to come. Reflecting can help us live more intentionally.

Why? According to Romans 12, in view of God's mercy, Christians are to live a new kind of life. We are to have a complete change in our worldview. We are not to look from the world's harmful, unsatisfying and imperfect perspective for our lives. Instead, a Gospel renewed mind helps us recognize and put into practice God's "good, pleasing and perfect will" for every area of our lives.

Take a few of these practical JOURNALING REFLECTION QUESTIONS for the new year to “consider your ways” in view of God's mercy. Reflect on your answers and ask yourself:

In the past year, has the Gospel and my bible readings conformed me more to the patterns of Jesus? Or have I been conforming to the patterns of the world?

Share with friends and TLC community group members your insights and hopes for the new year.
