Joy Missions / Missions Overview

This section entitled Mobilization serves to highlight the broad roles and responsibilities for which JOY seeks to mobilize people for the Great Commission.

MOBILIZERS

Mobilizers are people with a passion for bringing other church members on board the task of the Great Commission.  They seek to develop plans and execute projects that will create awareness of what is happening in missions so that the Holy Spirit may stir them towards greater involvement in missions.

DEVELOPERS

Developers are a unique group of volunteers who have a heart for a particular unreached people group or nation such that they endeavor to pursue the task of church development or community development through pastors and missionaries based in the country.

SENDERS

For senders, their prime concerns are the care and welfare of the missionaries in the field.  Currently, we have three missionary units who have been sent to the field overseas – Steve & Lisa, Jeanette and Elyse.  A missionary unit refers to either an unmarried missionary or a married couple.

GOERS

A goer is another name for a missionary or missionary unit.  He/she is one who has responded to the call to serve the Lord full-time in missions, either overseas or in the local (US) context.  For purposes of JOY missions, a missionary included a person who serves as a tentmaker (one who serves God in missions through his/her overseas work in a secular capacity).
